When I first met Robin, I did what every boy would do when he liked a girl; I made silly jokes and made a fool of myself.  After all, I was only 12.  We saw each other occasionally over the next few years, but reconnected again in Grade 11 and we’ve been together ever since.

We fell in love and became best friends very quickly.  We spent a lot of time together and freely shared our thoughts, dreams, and ambitions with each other.  Marrying Robin was the best thing I’ve ever done.  Our wedding day was the one of the happiest days of my life.  Knowing that we were going to spend the rest of our lives together was an unbelievable feeling.

I think the success of our marriage has been through our ability to talk about what’s happening in our lives and share our feelings with each other.  We’ve made sure that all the decisions we’ve had to make, we made together.  We’ve had our ups and downs, but we’ve supported each other through them and I can’t imagine going through life with anybody else.

The last 20 years have been great, where we’ve been married for 10 of them, and I know that the best has yet to come!
