Every year, I like to post new and exciting backdrops that I photograph during the year and other gorgeous examples of the infinite ways for using materials and light. As any photographer will tell you, we love light! Especially in venues and locations that may be a bit dark, or in other places where the venue may need some artistic touches. In any case, I always get super excited when I see a great backdrop because it offers such a wonderful background for ceremony or reception shots and adds personality to any venue. Below are some of my favorites from past years including a few new ones!
The image from the top of this blog is a very rustic and organic ceremony backdrop made from birch and decorated with flowers and ribbons. Photo location at Grand Geneva Resort, Wisconsin.
Jackie and Adam’s draped addition to their backdrop at Galleria Marchetti was perfect for an outdoor, garden ceremony
A lighted Holiday backdrop gave a dreamy, romantic vibe within a big space at Intercontinental Hotel, Chicago IL.
A gorgeous Chuppah with accent lighting and vintage chandelier for a Fall Jewish Wedding at the River East Art Center, Chicago.
White draped overhang with floating glass candles at the W Hotel Lakeshore, Chicago gave a very clean, modern look for a fun ceremony and reception.
A very artistic painting at Carnivale in Chicago, IL makes for a lovely and colorful backdrop, perfect for a festive ceremony.
